But I do want to just start out by asking you what were the Noster ciphers and how did you get involved?

So when I, the first time when I joined on Nostra, I found out about Nostra around June in 2023.

About that time, I was still doing some music production and still transitioning into what I wanted to do.

So that’s how I participated with the Value for Value music, because I had an active catalog, even on other digital streaming platforms.

I used to distribute it.

So when I found out about the site like Fountain and Wove Lake, when I found out about them, that you can receive the tipping through your music

That was really actually like entertaining for me.

That was an incentive right there to participate in the ecosystem.

He was like the host who was going to choose who was going to make the beat every week.

So one week I was chosen to make.

They were essentially a place where an artist would propose a beat and then other artists would come and utilize on top.

I actually removed the music because I didn’t want to stay posting it.

So and then I didn’t feel like the cut was worth it with the

So I just talked myself and then I transitioned into doing the other tech things and other bounties because that was more value for value for me because I was looking to make a living.

Because people are just talking about how you’re trapping, making music, you’re spending time in the studio with just a bunch of guys.

Because that was about the time that you’d been really trying to get into the radio.

Thanks to gatekeeping or no thanks to gatekeeping, you had to find a way to make so much music and put it out there.

Actually, that period, I actually finished my diploma in IT.

So I had so much time on my hands because I’m waiting to graduate.

So I was making the beats because I do play instruments, the keys.

I do play keys besides just making beats on the keyboard, like the new.

So that’s how I was producing with people, making the beat, drums, and keys.

And they also actually got me into recording as well, because I was transitioning from DJing into production, because that’s where most of my experience for Cyphers came from, just being a DJ and playing deeds for other artists.

So what’s your relationship with music?

Is it like a, as far as you see it as an outlet for you to express yourself, is it something that just kind of has been part of your life for a while that you’re using for expression?

I know you mentioned other creative outlets like app development and you’re in IT and all that, so we can certainly transition into that.

as well.

But I am curious your origins in getting into music and your current state of mind when it comes to the making of music or the expression of yourself through music.

I can say my folks have been into ministry, like being into church.

So I’ve had the experience with doing public address systems from a very young age.

I was dealing with mixers and setting up sound systems.

Just being around people who are performing and singing and ministering.

So for me, myself, I got into the art of DJing.

If you’re familiar with DJing, I had some equipment, so I just loved playing music.

And that’s it.

I have a certain love for music, for other people’s music besides my own.

And that’s why I can say for me, as much as I had a period of producing, my love for music was for doing live shows,

being among artists, setting them up and seeing them perform.

So that’s my transition with maybe trying to network with other kind of people, bringing the same enthusiasm into other spaces as well.

Where are your passions like today?

Right now, maybe live shows still.

If I was asked what I would love to do right now, maybe just do live shows and concerts.

Like the things I’m seeing such people as you guys do, the market, that’s an event where people are performing some nice music, some nice people are attending because I have the experience to actually do that.

If you have the equipment and the space, you just call out the people and host a nice show.

So music aside, what would you say are the things you’re focused on and where are you trying to go with your creative endeavors?

and just your own personal journey.

Where is that headed?

What are you focused on right now?

Right now, I’m actually so focused on parenting.

My son is actually getting to three years.

He just done three a few months ago.

So I’m just watching him grow and just be focused on that.

Besides being online and active with the development and after the music, because I’m not so much involved in the music side.

even with the artists such as Victor the Rapper, who’s featured in that Push It song.

But he’s still very active in the studio every day doing music as well.

So personally for me, it’s away from the songs and the limelight.

Maybe do some collaborations in the nostral space where we found each other and see where that leads, like the developments or start working with a few people.

And the future, only the future knows what the future holds.

But for me, it’s just that being a dad is my focus right now.

Where does that energy come from and what are you expressing through your publishing of your thoughts on Noster?

I just love chatting with people because it’s like being on an active old internet chat website.

Like if you’ve ever been in a chat room in an old website where people live conversations were just happening on the screen.

So it’s like engaging with someone from a particular space in a different place in the world.

You can either be friends or they can either be like turn into some haters or something.

You never know who you’ll talk.

But then you have to focus on the positive people who are engaging you with what you’re doing.

Plus, I do spend so much time at home right now.

When I’m working, I’m doing some remote jobs of some bounties on the IT side on my GitHub, open source contributions and all that.

Is there a app that you’ve developed?

You said you’ve done work for others for your IT, but you do coding yourself and app development yourself.

Oh yeah, I’ve done a few apps, but my main one that I’m focusing on right now is on the Nostra market space where creators can buy and sell anything, products and services that they want to buy and sell.

And right now, because the Nostra ecosystem is evolving

You don’t necessarily have to use BTC.

If your customers want to use a payment service that you want to accept, you can actually communicate and put that on your profile.

What does your relationship with Bitcoin have to do with the way that you go about your work and your development work and your music?

I got into BTC about the time in 2021 before the first really pump of the all-time high before that.

So I was using it as a means to make money online as a

peer-to-peer trading using my onboarding and on ramps and off ramping via P2P platforms because when you do the rate and exchanges you can make a little bit of money from that transaction peer-to-peer with people so I was using that as a means to make a living and then a few years later when I heard about Nostra and apps being banned from App Store I was a bit curious about the technology so I got I hopped on and

Where would you like to see the future of Nostr, whether it’s from the music side, the development side, where would you like to see that go in the future?

I think I love how the space is evolving.

I love how you asked about where you are hosting the ciphers and all that because the artists, everybody had to pay a certain fee.

But right now I’m seeing it’s easy to upload different kind of media because the only kind of media that was easy to upload or not was just images and videos and maybe just GIFs.

But now I can see documents are also uploadable in certain

It’s really easy right now to put up music as an artist on Nordstrom because you can use a client such as a Metis.

So I think the community just needs to get more involved and the artists, the creators as well, just put their energy out there and their time out there.

And I think that, you’d mentioned like that’s where coming from the mainstream distribution services, your Apples, your Spotify’s, they pay like way, way, way less for way, way, way more streams of artists getting their music.

The decentralization piece, I mean, you can upload and host your music for free or, you know, for whatever you’re paying for hosting, develop your own RSS feed and then essentially just keep it there as long as you need to.

So that’s the, I think that’s the message that I’m trying to spread, continue to spread to even folks who aren’t familiar with Noster or RSS music distribution, because I think that that’s where, you know, creators of music, we certainly, you want to have a place, an outlet to share it.

I think it’s just to encourage everybody who’s a creator and all that and more people to transition into this space because personally with my experience, I had to stop distributing music first on other platforms because after I realized I have to keep sharing my links too.

making from how much music people are playing.

You have to realize it’s like you’re subjecting your friends to do too much for you so you can earn money because I have to listen to your song maybe 3000 times for you to make a dollar or something like such numbers.

So I realized I don’t want to do that.

And the transition on Nostra, you can just share your song with one person and that one person will value that creativity.

So I hope the creators in the space can take a page from the people in the marketplace.

The people in the marketplace are very active and they’re full of enthusiasm.
